Brighter Bites

Google UX Project 1

Design a nutrition app that allows people to track their macros, calories, mood, and other nutrition factors in a way that allows them to toggle through the changes they want to see in themselves.

User Empathy

Creating the persona helped me understand the user’s needs, enabling me to write problem statements focused on tracking macro elements, water, and mood without the stress of calorie counting. This ensured a user-friendly, personalized app design.

Mockups

I utilized Figma's built-in style guides to create a cohesive design system during the mockup process. The course also taught us how to source assets, such as UX/UI packaged sticker sheets from other creators, to streamline the design process. By incorporating elements that went beyond simple icons, I ensured each component clearly conveyed its purpose and functionality, enhancing usability and creating a more intuitive user experience.

Wireframing

I started the wireframing process with paper sketches to quickly ideate layouts. After refining the designs, I created digital wireframes in Adobe XD. Based on feedback from my boss, I revised the homepage design to focus on a single main goal for users. This allowed users to choose between a calorie goal or a protein intake goal as their primary health focus, ensuring the options were clear and adaptable to individual needs.

Prototyping

I created an interactive high-fidelity prototype by linking boards and icons in Figma to simulate user interactions. This process allowed me to demonstrate the app’s functionality, such as navigating between screens and performing key actions. The interactive prototype helped visualize the user flow and refine the design for a seamless and intuitive experience.
